Since the raw image from a Dexis Classic sensor is actually rather poor it is very important that you have the original Dexis Classic calibration file installed which you would have received with your initial purchase. Also, Dexis has programmed the Dexis Imaging Suite to actually not allow a Dexis Classic dental x-ray sensor to function at all if the correct calibration file is not installed. This is more than likely due to the fact that the raw Dexis Classic x-ray image is very poor and needs significant correction when the image is processed in the Dexis Imaging Suite.
First it is important to know what you are looking for. Dexis Classic calibration files are named as follows:
- 012345678_dark.flf
- 012345678_dfm.dfm
- 012345678_flat.flf
The three file names above are what we are looking for and are what Sodium Dental x-ray repair technicians need in order to properly test your Dexis Classic x-ray sensor repair.
Using the original Disc (CD) to email the Dexis Classic calibration files:
Dexis Delete Image
- Insert disc into workstation
- Press the 'Start' button or Windows logo button in the bottom left hand corner of the Windows toolbar
- Click on 'My Computer' (or 'Computer' if running Windows 7 and above)
- Double click on your disc drive to view the Dexis Classic calibration files
- Verify the serial number in the calibration files matches the Dexis Classic sensor you have in for repair
- With your mouse: click, drag, and highlight all three of the Dexis Classic calibration files
- Open a new email in your email program
- Click and drag the Dexis Classic calibration files over to your new email
- Send this email to support@sodiumdental.com
- That's it!
If your original Dexis Classic calibration file disc (CD) is not available use the following steps to retrieve the calibration file from a computer.

**Note: In order for this to work it is important that you are on a computer that has had the Dexis Classic sensor installed.- Click the 'Start' button in the bottom left hand corner of the Windows toolbar
- Click on 'My Computer' (or 'Computer' if on a Windows 7 or newer computer)
- Double click on the C: drive
- In the C: drive look for the 'Dexis' folder and double click it with your mouse to open. If there is not a 'Dexis' folder then double click on the 'Program Files' folder
- Once inside the 'Dexis' folder, double click on the 'FlashDir' folder
- You should now see your Dexis Classic calibration files in the 'FlashDir' folder
- With your mouse: click, drag, and highlight all three of the Dexis Classic calibration files
- Open a new email in your email program
- Click and drag the Dexis Classic calibration files over to your new email
- Send this email to support@sodiumdental.com
